How to bypass android lock screen without losing data

The method i am going to explain is related to how to bypass android lock with adb. Knowledge of adb commands however is not needed. This method is also helpful if you forgot pattern and backup pin or forgot pattern and google account.

First of all, you need to install the SDK and USB drivers on your computer. SDK stands for software development KIt. It is Kit or collection of tools that facilitate development of software and application packages. SDK are fairly large in size so you can use Minimal adb which is light version and hence contains essential commands. Simply search minimal adb on google.There are many malicious sites that offer injected files so always download drivers from official manufacturer’s site. Then,

1. Connect your Android smartphone to your computer with the USB cable extension.
2. Open a Command Prompt file and navigate to the adb files. OR press SHIFT + rightclick where you adb files are located and click open command prompt here (open powershell here in windows 10)
3. Write the following lines in the cmd file, each line followed by pressing the “Enter” key.

adb shell
cd /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases
sqlite3 settings.db
update system set value=0 where name=’lock_pattern_autolock’;
update system set value=0 where name=’lockscreen.lockedoutpermanently’;
.quit

Explanation of code:

It initiates adb shell and browses the database where the lockscreen flags are stored.
these flags are updated to 0 meaning no lock is stored in the database

After this, restart your phone and when prompted for the pattern lock, input a random
pattern
and you are in. Also, another method for doing this, with only one line is this:

adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key

This code simply removes the gesture.key file from your device and hence the lock is removed.
